A closer look at completed deck, fence, and yard upgrade projects built around each property’s layout, function, and finished appearance.
Project type: Deck + Fence + Softscape
Materials: Pressure-treated lumber, gold tone Cutek Extreme stain, black mulch, sod, river stone, and pavers
This project began as a poolside deck replacement and extension, then grew into a complete backyard upgrade the following season. After the initial deck was completed, the homeowner brought us back to help finish the larger vision for the space.
We started with a planning phase focused on layout, privacy, access, and how the deck, fence, pool area, and yard would work together. The final result is a cohesive outdoor space with a raised poolside deck, surrounding privacy fencing, clean transitions, and a more functional backyard layout.
This project is a strong example of what Thomas Construction can deliver when careful planning and quality craftsmanship come together.
Project type: Deck + Fence
Materials: Pressure-treated lumber, HOFT black aluminum fence post system
This project began with a pressure-treated deck and a privacy wall extending from the back of the deck, creating a more comfortable and defined outdoor living area. After the first phase was complete, the homeowner chose to carry the same look through the rest of the yard with a matching privacy fence.
Built with horizontal wood boards and black aluminum posts/accents, the fence adds privacy while giving the yard a clean, modern contrast. Together, the deck, privacy wall, and fence create a cohesive outdoor space that feels practical, private, and intentionally finished.
Project type: Fence + Privacy Extention + Softscape
Materials: Pressure-treated lumber, gold tone Cutek Extreme stain
This custom privacy fence was built to create a stronger, cleaner boundary for the yard while adding height and privacy where it mattered most. Each panel was constructed using deck boards sandwiched between two structural frames, creating a more rigid and durable build than a standard fence panel. Topsoil was used to bring the yard to level, and grass seed was lain.
Project type: Raised Deck
Materials: Pressure-treated lumber, Black aluminum railing spindles.
These clients were looking for a large, functional outdoor living space that could comfortably extend their main floor into the backyard while still fitting cleanly with the home’s exterior. This raised deck was built with a wide usable platform, and finished with black aluminum railing spindles for a clean contrast against the wood.
The build includes a full set of side stairs for easy yard access, vertical wood skirting around the base to create a finished look and conceal the framing underneath, and an integrated access door so the area below the deck remains usable for storage.
Project type: Fence + Privacy Extension
Materials: Pressure-treated lumber
After the client’s previous fence came down unexpectedly, they needed a replacement completed quickly to restore privacy and close off the yard. We removed the failed fence and built a new pressure-treated fence with a privacy extension, delivering a clean, functional result within a short turnaround window.
